The versatile British Berkefeld® system is the ideal system for home use in small or medium-sized families, travel, outdoor activities or during unexpected emergencies. And is a great idea even for countries like New Zealand where even municipality water is becoming a bit questionable.

This powerful system purifies both treated water and untreated raw water from such sources as remote lakes, streams, stagnant ponds and water supplies in countries where regulations may be substandard at best. Perfect for everyday use, outdoor activities and a must in hostile environments where electricity, water pressure or treated water may not be available.
Constructed of highly polished 304 stainless steel, this system comes complete with either two or four 7 inch (17.78 cm) ceramic purification elements.

The British Berkefeld® system does the following:

has Self-Sterilizing purification elements impregnated with silver which inhibits bacterial grow-through in the filter

removes cysts Cryptosporidium Parvum and Giardia Lamblia by 99.99%
removes disease causing bacteria by 99.99999%, including Cholera, Typhoid, Salmonella, Serratia, E. Coli, Fecal Coliform
reduces herbicides, pesticides, organic solvents, SOCs, VOCs and trihalomethanes
reduces chlorine and lead

removes bad taste, colour & odours
removes silt and sediment making your water crystal clear

This system does NOT remove the beneficial minerals your body needs.

REPLACEMENT
Replace the elements when the carbon has been exhausted or if there is a significant change in diameter of the ceramic after cleaning. Anytime a crack in the ceramic occurs, the integrity has been lost and the filter must be replaced.

NOTE: Super Sterasyl™ Ceramic purification candles can be cleaned and re-used up to several years depending on the original water quality. Replace as per above. Additionally, it uses a gravity-based system instead of relying on electricity, thereby making this system very cost effective, especially with rises in electricity rates.
